Slipsheets

Our industrial packaging materials include:

Pallet Liners, Interleavers and Top Protectors: Available in .010 - .050 caliper thickness.  Used to prevent bags from working between pallet boards where damage by forklifts occur, prevents leakage caused by nails or splinters, stabilizes loads, prevents shifting, allows higher staking.  5 pallets of HMC pallet liners contain as many sheets as a truckload of corrugated.

High Performance Laminated Slipsheets: Available from .040 - .100 caliper.  Used with special forktruck attachments as a replacement for regular pallets.  Cost less than pallets, take up less space (50-80 slipsheets can be stored in the space of one wooden pallet), less weight than pallets (can save over 1,000 lbs on each truckload), disposable (no pallet returns), allow better stacking and prevent product damage from pallet overhang.

Quality Laminated Fiberboard, Using Water Resistant Adhesive:
Available from .040 - .100 caliper and 69" wide by 68" long.  Nails and staples well.  Kraft fiberboard is strong and tough.  Chip fiberboard is easy to cut and shape.  Both are low cost.

We are always looking for new ways to use our converted paper.  Below is a description of some of our papers and how our customers are using them:

• Bleached Machine Glazed Kraft .002
  Uses:  Glass, mirror packaging, plexiglass, paint applications
  
  
• Gypsum Light .010 - .012, Gypsum Medium .013 - .015, Gypsum Heavy .016 - .018
  Uses:  Inexpensive pallet liners, interleavers, dust covers inside boxes, can be laminated for thicker pallet liners
  
  
• Chipboard .020 - .024
  Uses:  Printer's chip, interleavers, separators.  Also used to protect edges of box springs and other furniture applications.  Used in boot and hat packaging.
  
  
• White Lined White Strut .015 - .022
  Uses:  Shirt backings, packaging, any application requiring white paper with no clay coating
  
  
• Chipboard .025 - .050
  Uses:  Interleavers, notebook backings, separators in boxes, apparel backing, tablet backing for large pads, backing for picture frames.  Can laminate chipboard up to .100
  
  
• 33# - 60# Linerboard .010 - .019
  Uses:  Pallet liners, table protection for metal cutting, shirt boards
  
  
• Clay Coated Newsback .018 - .024
  Uses:  Shirt board, pallet liners, backing for mats, backing for posters, interleavers, CD packaging applications

INDUSTRIAL PAPERS

A wide range of industrial papers are available.  From .002 lightweight drafts and newsprint to the heaviest .050 chipboards - We have the paper you need.

 

 

 

Fiberboard is composed of up to five plies of high performance paper or board laminated together using water resistant adhesive.

Halbert Mill Company slipsheets are made of high performance kraft papers, laminated using water-resistant adhesives.

Slipsheets are available in nominal thickness from .040 to .100.

 

 

 

 

SLIPSHEET HANDLING

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The push / pull arm extends and grabs the lip.  The arm is then retracted while the lift truck moves slowly forward, sliding the load onto the platen.  The platen carries the load.  Reverse to unload.

SLIPSHEET ADVANTAGES:

Less Weight - When used to replace pallets, slipsheets can save over 1000 lbs. on each truckload.

Less Space - 50 to 80 slipsheets can be stored in the space of one wooden pallet.
Product damage is avoided when stacking slipsheeted loads.

Slipsheet Uses

• Slipsheets, used with special forktruck attachments, are a replacement for regular pallets
• Slipsheets may also be used as tough top protectors
• Slipsheets may be used with banding and stretch film
